I need Help with and add on domain

I registered a new domain with host gator and set it up as an add on domain. I built a website for the domain using xsitepro and when I tried to test the ftp and it sent back this: "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 50.22.105.163:21".

When I registered the domain through "registry rocket" it said that the Domain Name Server was
ns1.hostgator.com
ns2.hostgator.com

My primary domain name server numbers are different for my primary domain name at hostgator and I don't know if this makes a difference or not. I have tried changing the server numbers around for the add on domain and adding it again but xsitepro still gives me the same message when I test ftp connection.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

The nameservers in your domain account should be pointing to the nameservers for your hosting account. if the nameservers on your hosting account are NS1.HOSTGATOR.COM AND NS2.HOSTGATOR.COM -then they should say that in your domain account as well. Also, did you set up the add-on domain correctly? Also, are you sure your using the correct info for your ftp client? Try using the ip address for the main hosting account in your ftp client, if that does not work be sure that you are using the right login in with your ftp client.
