Depending on the content management system you are using to build your site there may be plugins/modules available that make attachment of audio players really simple.

If you're looking for a pure HTML approach (not using any CMS system) them take a look at the following players:

    Tutorial for Flash MP3 Player

XSPF Web Music Player (Flash) - Plays MP3 on your website

Setup Wizard | LongTail Video | Home of the JW Player

    Good luck!

I'm also having teh same problem and these are some great tools but, Do you know any third party hosts where we can host audio files? Youtube is great for video but is there an audio version? Somewhere that will save my server a ton of bandwidth and cost? (planning on distributing audio file 30mins long to my newly formed list of 1000+)

You have several things to consider when delivering an audio file on the Internet. First and foremost is the quality, I recommend encoding the file at 44100kHz and 40kb. This will keep the file small enough as not to hog band width and the quality will remain high. To often I see musicians encoding the files at 360kb and it take forever to stream. There is nothing more annoying then trying to listen to something on the Internet and having to wait every couple of seconds for the download to catch up with the stream. The quality comes from the kilohertz not the kilobits, the kilobits will only hog bandwidth.

For hosting the files you have tons of options and one of them is 440Music. You can upload the file there and direct your members to the exact page where the file is available for listening and or downloading. If you decide that 440Music is right for you I would encourage you to join our affiliates program so any member you send to us who later buys music from one of our members you would receive a percentage of the sale.

        Hope this helps,
        TBones
