Problems moving my Wordpress website within Hostgator
Today I did the same on Hostgator. Slightly different in that you transfer the Wordpress files up one level to the "Public.html" file. I then changed the "Wordpress Address" and "Blog Address" to ".com", on the Wordpress Dashboard, only this time I incurred the following error (on Wordpress):
Warning! WP Super Cache caching broken! The script advanced-cache.php could not load wp-cache-phase1.php. Please edit /home/********/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php and make sure the path to /home/********/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache-phase1.php is correct
(******** names removed for security purposes).
I contacted Hostgator Tech Support who kindly and promptly fixed the problem and I didn't have to modify the "Store uploads in this folder" section. He said that the problem was having "Super Cache" set up on Wordpress and that it needed to be disabled while the files were transfered. Is this correct and if so how do you disable the "Super Cache"?
Is there an easier way of doing this as this seems like a complicated procedure for what should be quite a simple task?
