Learning HTML code takes time and it sounds as though you need to be up and running quickly.
There are so many great Wordpress themes that don't look like blogs.
It's worth spending the time looking for a good theme that suits your needs, then just enter your killer content.

If you haven't had any previous experience with creating websites, and time is an issue, I'd suggest hiring someone, particularly if design is important.

If you have previous experience, or you're happy to spend time learning through trial and error, I'd suggest using Wordpress to get you started. It's very easy to use and the beauty is that you can update the whole site in one or two clicks without having to edit every page like you do with flat HTML. (for example - imagine that you want to add a new page and have it show up in your navigation menu - with Wordpress this is done automatically; with HTML you would need to manually add the link to every single page of your site.) WP also has a number of advantages for SEO purposes.

I learned to code by hand over 10 years ago and consider myself a HTML geek, but even I tend to default to WP now for almost everything.
