I see you have already good Wordpress blog being used as Magazine site.
Now you want to have a blog in its pure form

There could be two ways to go:

1. For this i suggest...
Create a Category in the Blog called: Blog
and put each entry you want to sown in blog in this category.
Now in Menu Manager add a link to link this category: "blog"

2. Other way could be .. installing NEW wordpress at /blog folder
but it will be lot of work and there will now two wordpress installs
to manage...plus you will have to take care of new blog's design to
match to current site....


Again i recommend #1 method as it is easy to go and it will nicely fit
in your current blog/site.

You are already using WordPress. So you can create two pages--one called home and the other blog. Now. go to Settings-> Reading and choose "static home page option" and set the "Home" page as your home page as "Blog" as your bog page. The home page will now show a static page. If you want to populate it automatically, you will have to make some tweaks and create a template for use with the "Home" page.

PS: Plz don't use the two methods mentioned in an earlier reply. Neither of them is the correct way of doing this. No offence, Mohsin.
