Hello Warriors,

Several weeks ago I started an organic produce delivery company with a few friends of mine and we are working on designing a wordpress website. The website can be viewed at pacificcoastharvest .org My problem is that the home page has a large photo as the header and it looks fine, but all the other pages on the website look at the same css sheet and hence use the same huge header. What is a simple way to direct my other pages to look at a different CSS sheet or to make them load a smaller header photo? Thank you in advance for the help, Warriors are the best

I guess you are not using the best theme for your website which meets your requirement. Get a theme which has a small header and an image slider on homepage.

I would actually question why you want this huge header on any page. it takes up over half of the screen on a mobile device.

A template with a slider on the index page might be your best bet, as xtrapunch suggested. Any theme from elegantthemes.com would do the trick.

There is never a "simple way". Just because WP is easy to install, don't assume that customizing it would be as simple as well.

Using the WP Conditional Tags you can code your header to have different image, text, whatever based on the view (i.e. catgeory archive, single post etc.) but it requires quite in-depth knowledge of how WP template files and template tags work.

as crazy as this sounds, you can change headers in the twentyten theme with the variable and the css is pretty stout to where you can get the same look that you have now. without the headache it will also cut down on the big header issue you have. just rework the stylesheet and everything should come out in the wash

First off the image is really to big and you are losing valuable "real estate" on your website. I would suggest making the image into a proper header (much smaller) with a logo for your company.

There are also tons of themes and plugins that can accomplish what you are looking for. Anyone of the Elegant themes would be great for your site, utilizing a "Featured Slider" showing images of your products..

    Just my thoughts...
