Wordpress.org Tutorials?

I just added a cool template for a soon to be wordpress.org blog :
LayoversAndHangovers.com The Spirit of Travel

The problem is, I can't find decent tutorials (after an hour searching) that explain simple things like:

- how to add an image under the title of the blog
- Have the new posts appear under the "fresh" line rather than where it currently is... the test title "just another bootsy test post"

honestly, i have so many questions, I just need a simple video explanation for idiots that goes "this is a header... you can add text by... you can add images by...

Any suggestions would be a great help! Thanks Warriors!

  • Did you create that template yourself, or did you have download it from somewhere?

    If you created it yourself, why reinvent the wheel, when you can just download a killer WP template for free. Just google Free Wordpress Templates.

    If you downloaded a template, it's not a very good one. And the author should have provided some sort of instructions on customizing.

    For Wordpress tutorials, go to Youtube.com - there are PLENTY of videos to help you out!

    Lastly, you stated that you are setting it up on wordpress.org as a blog within their site? Not a good idea. You wont have much freedom in customizing and adding plug-ins and such. Your best option is to download WP and install on your own server. Getting a server is dirt cheap nowadays, and I've seen hosting plans for under $15 for the year. Many already include WP via the Fantastico plug-in, which is usually included.

    • Gracefulonline is correct, we have found some great tutorials about wordpress setup on youtube.
