*CLOSED* Problem solved! Wordpress Newbie looking for some advice / help

I purchased a pre-built site to get started in the world of IM. Now the site is fully up and running and getting a little traffic to it, I see some improvements that could be made, but I have no idea how to make these changes.

The site is a links to popular tv shows and has no real content to it just links to episodes of the tv show.
I would like to add some articles or even basic information to it, (nothing too technical) but I am stumped.
When going through the wordpress admin area I find many posts and only one page created for this setup and am not sure where I can add some content.

If anyone thinks they could give me a bit of help on this please PM, not going to link my site, because I'm not looking for free link or traffic. Thanks in advance.

  • I know it's probably not what you want to hear because it involves a ton of reading, but give codex.wordpress.com a look, if you read all of that you'll be a wordpress ninja

    • Thanks I will take a look, but again hoping for something a bit more direct.
      Just want to learn how to add an article today and possibly more later on.
      Due to the way the site was created might not be as straight forward as those tutorials show.

    • Thanks for the response very informative article, but what I am looking to do is insert an article into a already existing index page, but the posts and pages listed in my wordpress panel have me confused. The site was built by someone that I cannot get in contact with anymore therefore I am asking for help here.

      To clarify if anyone has 15-20mins (probably much less) in which they could pm me, take a look at my site and direct me to what needs to be done to insert an article I have written and ready to go onto an existing index page would be very helpful.
  • depending on the way the theme is setup articles may be turned off on the front page. i can't send you a pm but if you can send me the url i'll have a quick peek and see what i can see
