header software for ubuntu

I'm not very tech savvy and use xheader's free software to create and add headers to wordpress. I'm not able to use my computer at the moment and am using a friends that has ubuntu as its operating system.

Anybody have any recommendations for software to download from ubuntu to make headers similiar to Xheader?

    You can use Gimp which is an image manipulation application similar to Photoshop.

    Try Inkscape. Although you have to learn how to work with it first.

      also having problems with my WP blog

      well, i'm not using ubuntu

      but we have a linux running pc here at home

      would be great to experiment and learn new things tonight

      but we have photoshop so maybe i will not need gimp?

    If you have photoshop you don't need any other raster graphics software. You're all set.

      You can possibly get xheader running on ubuntu using wine. Wine basically lets you run windows applications in linux. Google playonlinux for good simple front end to wine. Hope this helps.
