Basics Guidelines for Web Designing
For those of you who are starting out there, here are a few yardsticks to be kept in mind while designing a website.
1. Goal of the website -
Why do you wish to create the site? What do you wish to achieve through the site?
2. The target audience -
i> Who are you trying to attract to your site? Think in terms of age, socio-economic status, language, culture, etc.
ii> what do you wish to provide to them? Or what shall they be expecting from your site? eg, services, information, products, etc.
3. Site map-
Provide a map to your site. This will enable the audience to see your site at a glance and see the "depth" at one go.
4. Design-
Create a visually appealing design which is also user friendly and easy to navigate. Evaluate user response and, if necessary, redesign your site.
If we follow these few guidelines while designing and building a website, we can expect reasonable traffic.
