Should I run a mobile version of my Wordpress blog?

I've noticed in my Awstats that I'm starting get a lot of Android and Iphone browser visits to my Wordpress blog and was thinking about running a plugin to display a mobile friendly version for those visitors.

I'm looking at the BAAP Mobile Version plugin as it looks to be highly rated in the WP plugin repository. Does anyone have any experience with these apps? Any advice as to which one might be better than the others?

    it automatically switches to a mobile version.

    • I like WP Mobile Edition. It's simple to use and gives a clean look.
    • Good points on your site, and I agree with you that the tablet, and more capable browsers running on them, are going to rule the market over the foreseeable future.

      In reality, the android hits are the overwhelming majority of this new traffic and that could be on tablet devices rather than phones. I think my strategy should be to find something works cleanly for the phone traffic.
  • it really comes down to how well your site renders on the persons cell phone and what type of experience it offers them... if they cant get the information they want and you are driving your visitors away because of the site being non mobile friendly then i would say a big yes to converting it!

    have you checked out your site for yourself on any of those devices?
  • I would say get a mobile version BUT your site will show on a mobile phone as it is but it might look horrible lol
  • I've gotten about 200 hits so far this month from mobile browsers, android and iphone, a small percentage compared to the overall total hits but would probably increase if I made it accessible to mobile browsers.

    The site is focused on amazon, ebay and cj affiliate product reviews, so I would be smart to try and convert some of that potential traffic to sales, giving the recent reports that people are more than willing to make purchases through their phone.

    I found a site that provides links to various emulators and will test the results of WP Mobile Edition and the like. Thanks for the responses so far.
