Need time remaining script

Hey Warriors,

Does anyone have a script they can share that will countdown and redirect? Everything I've come across requires a specific date/time for the countdown, but I just need a 2 minute countdown for each visitor - regardless of when they enter the page.

Hi Ryan,

Try the following - 120000 is the number of milliseconds (2 minutes = 1000 * 120), and you can have anything in the function() { ... } part.
Code:

window.setTimeout(function() { window.location = "http://www.google.co.uk"; }, 120000);

Sorry Ryan - brain just kicked into gear and I realised there was a much quicker way of doing it.

I've amended my post above to reflect the change.

jQuery's timers and countdown plugins are still useful, if you're looking to do some more advanced stuff:

So how exactly do you use this script, lol.

I added it inside my head tags. How do I go about calling the script to show the countdown in the body?

  If you want to show a countdown on your page, you'd need to consider using jQuery and the countdown plugin link that I posted previously.
  
  The code example I originally posted is to fire off an event after a set period of time, but with no notification to the user of the countdown time remaining.
