I will be getting my own domain name for my own website that I created using wordpress but I want to get it with godaddy not with wordpress. I just copied the html code of the home page and pasted it into notepad as an html file. Do i have to copy the html of each single page for my website then upload it using a web hosting service? How does it all work, please help I'm very confused about this.

you'll need to make a backup of your database from the wordpress site and then import it into your installation on godaddy's server
just copying/pasting code won't work unfortunately

    lauraca94,

Since you are using Wordpress.com you can log into your wordpress.com dashboard for your blog.
Then you will go to Tools. Then Export. Then Click export.

Once you get your self hosting siite set up then you can import the one xml file with all your content.

    I hope that helps.

        lauraca94,

The link pmedia suggested is a great one for moving your WordPress site. We also have some details specific to Go Daddy that you may find helpful in our support forum if you search 'Move WordPress' Our support team is 24/7 and available to answer any questions as well.

I'd strongly advise having a self-hosted WP site with GD... (sorry, Trevor, your company's hosting, especially, when it comes about WP, is less than stellar...)
