How to Create VBulletin Styles

How do people do it? I know i can go in and edit every graphics file and the settings colors, but it seems there is an easier way, do people use some kind of program to create the style and then break it down into the different folders ect?

Like in dreamweaver you make a site the slice it and save, and it saves in needed folders that talk to eachother?

I really could use any advice in regards to this as i need to fully customize a site i have and it doesnt make money yet so i cant justify the expense of paying someone, plus like they say learn how to fish and you wont be hungry, lol

Thanks for any help you can give.

Creating a skin for vBulletin is a little more complicated that that. Your best bet is to use the firebug plugin for firefox to identify the graphics you need to replace, open them in photoshop, make the adjustments you need and save them back out. Of course, make a copy of the skin you started with in case you make a mistake.

There are plenty of tutorials for firebug

    Hey luxifia,

vBulletin offers a "Style Generator" within the admin panel for quick and easy style editing...

We also offer tons of video tutorials to help you style your forum....

Dear this video has some useful information. but when you try yourself. You will face many design issues.. Because vbulletin style generator works automatically. In the style generator you just have to choose two or three colors. and it automatically generate skin of these colors. But if you want to change a color of desired area of the vbulletin skin.. You can't... So i think it fails to generate the best results......

        Hi,

You can change any color on the site by utilizing the "stylevar" system built into the template.

Yeah jasper you are right, vbulletin basic stylevar are building blocks of vbulletin skin, we can change the colors of most of the areas in vbulletin, But in custom skins you have to made your own stylevar.... Because standard vbulletin stylevars are also fails in some areas. We need to create new for that purpose....
