Is "Pretty Links" worth it? Bait & Switch?

I've installed "Pretty Links" plugin on two WP sites. The one that was done over two years ago is now saying (All your links are not working - but if you upgrade to Pro - that'll be fixed.)

The site with the recent install isn't giving me this error message, yet.

I'm not keen on paying $94 for pro.

What's your opinion of Pretty Links?

    Pretty Links and other cloaking plugins similar to it are the victims of a purging of the WordPress plugins repository of any plugin purporting to 'cloak' links. PL chose to remove some of their features to make it acceptable to the powers-that-be at WP, and then offer a premium version.

    If you don't want to pay the asking price for the pro version, use something else. They didn't "bait and switch" you or anyone.

      Yea I'd like to know what free services are out there as well. Also, is cloaking important for clickbank affiliate marketing?


      I heard something about people stealing your conversions if you don't hide your affiliate number in the link. (that might be a jumble of 3 or 4 different threads, so it might be completely false)

    I use GoCodes, it's the best alternative to Pretty Links, it's a free wordpress plugin, I suggest you check it out. Also you can do subdomain redirects if you know how :-)
