Few questions regarding Wordpress, please help!

Hey everyone, been struggling with setting up my wordpress site for SEO optimization.

1. I've got "Platinum SEO" plugin installed and when I enter the "title" "description" in the settings I'm afraid that it will be a duplicate since I already got that in the general settings, where should I insert the title and description in general settings or in Platinum SEO settings? Or both but they should be different?

2. WHy do I got that "|" on my site: | Penny Auctions Comparison - TOP Rated Penny Auction Sites, at the top of the browser?

3. How do I set the main article only be displayed at the front page and not to be displayed at the top menu as well? Won't it count as duplicate content on the site?

4. When I insert the title and description on that main article that display on the front page with platinum SEO plugin it shows two titles then, how do I got about that? I would much appriated any help, Thank you very much in advance!

    Not familiar with Platinum SEO, so I would suspect that your issues are coming from there. Check their forum for answers to the issues that you're having.

    In using Firebug, I see that you have WP 3.1 installed and a quick check of Platinum SEO indicates that it is compatible with WP 3.0.5 - so that could be an issue.

    I use All in One SEO and have had no issues at all.

    As for the | before your title - have you checked your General Settings to be sure that you have your Main title in the "Site Title" box? If you have your site name in the "Tagline" box, you will get that character before your title>

    You also have an issue with a plug-in - scroll to the bottom of your homepage and you'll see this:

    Hi smolodoy,

    Platinum seo will take care of the general settings and won't duplicate it.

    The "|" is what's already in platinum's general (main) settings, when you fill in the details you can change that. Also check the seo platinum title description on each of your posts or pages to see if "|" there.

    3. ? Do you mean the link to it? Can you remove that in your menu settings if that's what you mean?

    4. Check all 3 title descriptions. General, the page/post and seo platinum. Is there an option with your theme to disable their seo?
