Photoshop Help "removing the ruler"

I'm sure this is such as easy fix but I can't remove this GOD DA*MN RULER! It looks like a checker board pattern... anyone know how to get rid of the measuring lines?

    Click Ctr-R that should get rid of them.

      Thanks for the reply... it's not the ruler on the left and top of the page (which is Ctr R) its the lines in the middle of whatever im working on.. I cant get rid of those lines

        Hold Ctr at the same time to drag the lines away.

              It says it could not be moved because the layer is locked.?

    Click on View, Click on Show. Is Grid checked? Uncheck it.

    If they are cyan lines those are your guide lines. Ctrl+ ; will get hide them.

    What could have happened was you probably clicked on either your top or bottom ruler and accidently dragged one out. Or if you did it on purpose Ctrl + ; will work to get rid of them.

    Alternatively you can go to View > Show > Guides

  • ctrl + ; = That will show/hide the grids.
    ctrl + r = That will show/hide the rulers.

    To remove the grid lines which you have used, press ctrl+h.
