Directory of portfolio websites

Hi guys

I wonder if someone here can help me. I am looking for a platform to build a website. Its basically a business directory but each listing will have its own detailed profile with portfolio.
I want each member to be able to log in and edit their own profile. Also uploading a handul of images to a portfolio.

I also want to be able to charge for a premium listing where they have more pictures and are able to do more feautures such as pm apply for jobs.

Its a visual art directory so it would really need to look good in the portfolio section.

I am currently experienced with Joomla and Word Press and it would be awesome if someone knew of a template I could purchase.

Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction?

  • You should look for a WP theme at themeforest - there are plenty you could use. I do believe you will need to modify it quite a bit and use custom post types to achieve what you want.

    • Thanks. I have purchased themes from theme forest before. Would users be able to register and create a good looking profile in which they can edit. I wouldnt want them to be able to edit anything else other than their own profile.
      I also would want them to be able to make a payment and then be able to further features to their profile.

      I am suprised that there isnt any pre built templates with this business concept. It does make me wonder if WP or Joomla is suitable for this kind of business site.

      I did come across Marks business directory templates from this site. This is almost the right thing but I need to be able to add a portfolio to the listing and as the concept is quite visual I would need it to look quite different.
