Word Press - All in One SEO or Yoast?

Hello,

I have a new Word Press site that is a pure virgin...it was litteraly just installed.

I have been looking at plugins and specifically ones for SEO. The tried and true is All in One SEO...but what this one from Yoast? I have trolled some blogs and am getting mixed reviews. Some have tried it and bailed, other praise it for the amount of traffic their sites have now.

What are your thoughts on this? I want to avoid installed one and then having to migrate to the other.

Thanks for the help and direction,

Dave

Tried and true is a pretty good bet. All in one seems to do everything you need, doesn't it?
What factors are you trying to change on a page?

Why spend time pondering about it? Just use All In One and spend the time your wasting reading reviews producing great content and backlinking to it.

      Thanks to all...

Hey Allan...it's not wasting time BTW. It is merely getting it right the first time so I don't waste time later. Not to worry....your point proves true for many other problems.

      Cheers,

      Dave

I've used AIO until recently. Now I switched to SEO ultimate on new installs. As between yours I would stay with AIO

I usually use SEO friendly themes as well but if the theme doesn't have SEO featuresI will use AIO.

I have been using yoast for about two months in my site www(.)snbc(.)co(.)in and i'm really satisfied with it, as it offers seo templates for posts,pages,home,category....
it also removes the "category tag" from the url which would be really helpful in reducing the url length.it even contains xml sitemap, keyword focus-which checks whether the keyword that you are optimizing the post for is included in url, title, meta tags.... and what else do an seo professional need

    All in one SEO.
I personally think no plugin can increase traffic to your website as you said...other said to you....Traffic depends on your sites content and consistency. I have used Yoast. Its good but truly speaking we don't need so many options..

All we need is 1 title tag plugin, 301 redirection plugin, security plugin....Rest WP takes care of as far as pinging is concerned.

    thnx

Definitely WordPress SEO by Yoast, it's numerous SEO plugins all in one and they are all helpful to your website. It might be a little complicated at first but if you take the time to go through the plugin you'll be good.

ive used everything and wordpress seo from yoast comes in on top because it handles more than just all in one seo functions but also replaces my sitemap plugin, and robots meta plugin with some additional features i like as well such as breadcrumbs.

If you switch SEO plugins, do you have to redo all the seo for each post/page you have on a blog? I tried switching from AIO to Ultimate SEO and it asked me all the new info...if I don't fill it out manually do I lose all my positions?

I was a consistent All In One user until I checked out the latest version of Yoast Wordpress SEO. Now I've switched to Yoast for new clients. It eliminates a few other plugins I was using and is very quick for me to implement. I really like it Yoast and think it's going to leave All In One in the dust.

I prefer YOAST, it can be a bit buggy but nothing I can't live with. I would take a little time and make an informed decision. Install them both, read the manuals and go from there.

As with anything, pick one and learn it well.

Here is a relatively fresh article/comparison:

    Best of luck!

My 2-Cents since this thread seems to be getting some more activity:

I used to use All In One and Platinum and found them both to be about equal.

However, in the past 6 months I've switched to WordPress SEO by Yoast and I really like it better. There are some nice options for customizing things on a per page and per post basis that make it my new top choice for SEO plugins.
