Warriors,

For all that I have learned concerning marketing, SEO, writing articles, keywords, etc...

For the life of me I cannot get this WP layout to do what I want it to do!

My intention was to have a "Static" Home Page that shows up when someone visits:

Market-4-Success[dot]com

Somehow, I have it all messed up. Every post shows up, burying my Welcome Message (Home Page)

My desire is to have "Pages" categorized and in a hierarchy format whereby;

Home: Static Welcome Message (no siblings)

Reviews: Displaying Static Parent Page, (w/ siblings) drop down menu w/ article titles

Tools: Static Page (w/siblings)...

Contact: Standard Contact Page (no siblings)

About Us: Static (no siblings)

Finally, I wanted to create a sitemap, and show links in the footer. I am probably over complicating this process, but I am 2 seconds away from 'deleting' everything and starting over, as at this point the site is a total navigational mess!

Naturally, I want to maintain and establish the site to rank pages based on 'targeted keywords'

Any insight at this point is welcomed, and greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Art

@gmack: While that is a nice offer it does not benefit any of the rest of us on the forum. Instead of a PM why not share your advice with everyone, so that other may benefit from your wisdom?

@art72: It sounds like you still have your first page setup to display Posts (the default) instead of a Static page.

      - Log into your WordPress Dashboard
      - Under "Settings"(menu on left) got to "Reading"
      - Under the "Front Page Displays" option (at the top) select the "a static page" radio button
      - Use the selection boxes to select a static page to use as your front page, as well as another page to display all your posts (these pages both need to exist before you do this).

That should give you the desired effect on your front page, your posts will be on the page you designated in the above step and your front page will be static.

As for your hierarchy, use the "Parent Page" options when you create your pages and order them the way you want. And use the Order Number to determine their order on your page menu.

      Hope this helps

        Bill,

Thank You Sir...that got the 'Home' Page issue resolved. A little more work, and I should have the menu's, pages, categories figured out!

I think the problem was I had created 'posts' rather than 'pages' and as such was unable to organize the parent/siblings accordingly...Thanks Again
