States Active Map?

Sorry if this has been asked but I dont know the term used to find it. Im looking to have one of the websites done that when you first get to it has a Active clickable Map to choose a STATE your in to check to see if there is service in that area for a new business concept I have.

What could be an acceptable alternative is simply a form that says ENTER STATE or ZIP CODE of your location for service provider partners in your area. Any recommendations? What is the term or language involved in making these work?

I'm not sure... but are you referring to the Google Maps API?

I have a friend who has a visual of the states he created and your coding can make it interactive but it's only for the USA, let me know if that helps.

I am not sure what is called but yes Im in the US only wanting US map of states. Basically Goolge Maps API may be correct. The idea being that anyone visiting my site can choose the area they are from for help as I set up affiliates in each state or county. So they can see if service is in their area. Hope that makes sense
