How Can I Identify The Wordpress Theme Of Any Given Website?

Hi warriors,

I would like to know if any one has an idea how I can find out what wordpress theme a site has...

Most of the time you can find some information on the bottom of a webpage and mostly it is written there but not always.

Here is the site I mean incase you want to know: HP Laptops Reviews

This one uses a free theme called Stitchpress. Best way to find out (assuming they haven't changed to custom folder names) is to view the source of the website in question and look at the link to their stylesheet. This one, for example, is http://www.hplaptopsreviews.com/wp-c...ress/glide.css. Then you can just search for the theme name.

You look in the source code of the page and search for wp-content/themes/

  Sorry, the link was shortened by the forum. When you're looking at the source code of the homepage, you'll see near the top:

  Usually whatever comes after wp-content/themes is the name of the theme, unless the designer / developer created something custom or renamed it. 9 out of 10 times it works though.

In Mozilla, press control + U... This will open up the source code. Scroll down a bit a third of the way down until you see wp-content/themes/. This will tell you the theme used. Google that theme with + Wordpress theme next to it and you will most likely be pointed right to it.

most people will change the name of the theme directory by just renaming the folder so in the source it will show up as whatever they renamed it.....BUT if you view the CSS they usually forget to or are not allowed for that theme to change the theme name in the CSS....so if i want to find out i always go to the css file first...

The site What WordPress Theme Is That? and looking directly at the .css file are both worthless procedures if the developers modified both the theme folder name and the .css file properties as well.

That's actually my case and I still haven't figured out what theme these guys are using.

You don't need no freaking website for it - just right-click > view source > click on style.css link
