Wordpress Problem?

Hey,

I'm having a problem with my wordpress blog.

I have my homepage optimised for my keyword and currently have around 200 links coming in to the homepage. I use seo pressor to ensure the onpage optimisation is taken care of.

Problem is that my keyword is not showing up any results for my homepage on google.

Instead the "About" page is showing up for my keyword way back on page 25.

It's like google is using my "About" page rather than the homepage (which is optimised for this specific keyword), even though there is very little text and zero on page optimisation on the "About" page?

Any sugestions please??

  • Inner, are you talking about your bouncy castle site? Because your homepage, when you key in "bouncy castle hire", is showing up on page 1 of Google Ireland, at number 8.
  • Have you installed SEO plugins on your Wordpress homepage? If yes, please check they are properly configured. You can also disable them for a week and check if the plugins are doing something wrong.

      Yes, I have a few plugins installed but I use the same plugins on every site so they shouldn't be a problem.

      It's really frustrating, I know this particular site should be ranking quite well but all I'm getting on google is the About page.

      Really annoying and frustrating....Please help me fellow Warriors!
