What should I tell my Blog Designer...

I have someone doing a blog for me from the WSO and she would like to attach the blog to my domain of my HTML Sales page.

My HTML sales page is not optimised as the sales page was designed for the human eye so no keywords (in the domain, the title, etc).

I need to keep the sales page as it is and decided on getting this blog done so I can optimise it and drive traffic to my sales page

Is it ok then if the designer attaches this blog to my "non-optimised" sales page domain.com/blog Would this affect the optimization of my new blog or would be just be better to set up an independant blog domain.com

The designer menioned that most people are doing it like domain.com/blog
but I am wondering if it will work ok in my case with a non optimised sales page and domain.

Thanks!

Thanks

If your using the blog to optimize the sales page then the best choice would be to place it on domain.com/blog.

Doing this you can link to your main sales page through the navigation menu by use of custom menus.

It also helps with a branding aspect as well as tells people that there is an additional site on the root directory.

Linking them together will give you a backlink. You should be using keywords even in your sales page. If you are not - how are people finding you? You could also use hypertext in your blog and point them to your site. The choice is your and there are many options. BUT - many people feel that you should connect everything in one way of the other. Blog point to website,Squidoo points to your website, hub page points to your website ETC.

People are only finding me currently through articles that point to sales page. That is why I want a blog to optimise for KW's that point also to my sales page!
Still confused... if I don't optimise sales page is having a blog attched to my website a waste of time then or wouldn't it affect the blog itself  Would I be better having an indendent blog that is optimised properly
