How to make secure download for Wordpress?

Hi there,
I'm going to sell E-Books on Wordpress site but I don't want people to download them freely. I want to add password section before they download or limited download per password.
Any guide?

    Another alternative (although somewhat more extensive in what it can do) is S2Member. You can get a free version here:
    s2Member.com

    You can then protect posts/pages that people have to buy access to using PayPal.

    NB: S2Member was originally created as a membership plugin, so this isn't it's primary purpose.

    you can use wordpress password fascility on post

    - make a new post contain your download link
    - see right section , find "visibiity " and click on "edit"
    - choose "pasword protected and fill the box with your password
    - click publish
    - so when some one click this page url, wordpress will show password form to fill before you can see the content

    and for double protected, if you want,
    you can place the download files on a password protected folder on your hosting, and you can make protected pasword on cpanel.

    @jumpa,
    that's wrong: with payments you can not use the WP's built-in pw protected posts/Pages - it was NOT invented for that.

    The solution is anything that generates unique and expiring download links. It has to work automatically because buyers are impatient and they will not want to wait until you wake up to give them the password

    Have you ever tried to set up a sold product download page with the "smart" method you suggested? If not - don't tell people to do it.
