Naming Pages

I am building my first website and I am noticing that when I create pages they are named Page1.aspx, Page 2.aspx and so on. I should be changing these page names to something that will help in SEO, correct?

Also, my site is built using tables, which I just read we should use CSS. Not sure what that is, so could someone tell me what the code would look like? My website was built using Firefox and looks great, but in IE some of the typing is WAY off.

Thanks for the help.

  • Yes you should name your pages with keywords related to that page.

While table-based layout still works, CSS is the preferred way. You might need a professional web designer to do the CSS work as it's more hands-on type of work.
  • Thanks for your reply. So, there's more to CSS than just going into the page and changing some html codes? Well, I guess I'll just have to live with it. Some people say it's not as bad as I am seeing it, so I'll deal with it later if too many negative feedback comes back to me.

Now that I finally found where my pages are located to change the names. I'll be doing this, as soon as firefox stops acting like IE and crashing on me every 15 minutes.
