Redesigned My Site

You asked for an honest opinion so I will give it to you straight. Rob is exactly correct. There is something wrong with your website.

I tested this on the latest version of Firefox, IE, & Chrome. You can run through a more comprehensive test at Check Browser Compatibility, Cross Platform Browser Test - Browsershots where it will test your site on 85+ different browsers and display screenshots as the output.

The site has large spacing between elements which seems weird. A normal user would probably not even realize they need to keep scrolling.

Just like everything else in business a website is an investment. If I saw this site before calling you would this website give me the impression that I am getting the best person to come fix my car. Honestly, no. I would keep searching for someone else.

Personally, I think a WordPress site with a stable backend would look much better and be far more compatible with different browsers right out of the box. I think fiddling around with non-CMS based sites is a bad idea for most small businesses.

Design:
Homepage - Your logo is way to big. People don't always scroll down the homepage. Looking at your site from a laptop with a 1440X900 resolution I can only read the one line under your "roadside vehicle unlock service". If you made your logo smaller people would be able to get much more information. I also think your button text is a bit hard to read. Not sure if it is just the color or if the brushed steel look is just distracting.

Other Pages - Why does every page visited from your navigation links have a different color background? A consumer would be very confused. In addition, when visiting any of the other pages the navigation bar disappears. Users don't necessary click the back button and look for links to click on next. If they don't see links they may just close your site and leave.

Contact Us - Your contact page has a "Call Us" button. If I see a button like this on a webpage that is clickable I would expect it will call me. Your button takes you to another website.

OKLockSmith.com Link - What's the point of this link being a main navigation link? It takes you to a different website that seems to offer the same information.

Overall Thoughts:
I am sorry I am being so harsh. You asked for our opinion so I am really just trying to help you out.

Great job on going through the process of completing your first site. Some of the content isn't half bad. I even liked your lockout video you have on YouTube.

However, overall I would say this site fails miserably. It's questionable whether or not a visitor will even be able to use your site based on the chosen browser they use. The design is just down right confusing. The color schemes of the different pages are not coherent and will certainly confuse a visitor.

To be honest I would strongly suggest you contact a website designer. No matter what you do I would strongly suggest using WordPress or another CMS (content management system) as your backend. This will fix a lot of your issue right from the start.

My personal preference is WordPress. It is the ONLY system I use for my own websites as well as my paying clients. It is fairly simple to use, is used by a large community, is very simple to extend functionality through plugins, and more. WordPress powers some of the worlds largest websites including parts of eBay, CNN, and more.
