I would lean against Concept #1, personally. Concept #3 is very nice, but it may perhaps be part of a trend that is on the decline.

I think the speech bubbles part of concept #2 would look great on a white background, although you might want to tone down the colors a bit once you see it there. Experiment with using a darker color on the words and a more interesting font and I think you have a winner.

As someone that does and has done many MANY logos, I'd have to go with #2.

I would do another revision and drop the "www" and the "com"..

If you want to show the domain, then show it in full underneath in a nice smaller centered font. You can always remove it once your brand becomes more recognized "as we all hope are brand will become!".

The colors and style of #2 really convey "Windows" the best without out right copying the original Windows concept.

The bold face on Windows works well.

You can use the icon for branding later as well, printing, desktop icon, etc...

You could remove the font style/color and it would still work well across the board - web, print, video, etc..

    ----------------
#1 - I don't care for it at all, it's cold, doesn't convey anything to me at all.
    ----------------
    #3 - Too busy!

    Best of Luck,
    FBM.

    I vote for logo #2.

Number 1 is very much like a button on an iPhone. Nothing special there.

Number 3 has potential but it feels really heavy on the left side with the phone and the chat bubbles and the three colored squares.

Number 2 is much more balanced and is slick but the colored chat bubbles are a nice splash of color. I don't love the www though either. I find it a bit distracting.

I'd like to see it without the www and take the .com and turn it vertical next to the "d" in board.

Concept 1. Logos should be kept simple. If I were you I'd pick Concept 1 as the logo, and get the same designer to design a header for the site similar to Concept 2, but with the font used in Concept 1.

I like Logo 2 as well. The colors are striking, and our eyes move downward to the web page. Strip out the www and com for perfection as others have already said.

Logo 1 is clean but cold. Technoboring.

Logo 3 offers a related phone graphic, but the design moves our eyes in different directions.

FriedBassMedia, please tell us when you're opening up your website for business. The logo at FriedBassMedia is striking!

I'd say Concept 1 is certainly my favourite. It comes across not only as quite stylish and refined, but its also clean and compact - this is what I would expect a 'logo' to be. Additionally, it lends itself to being incorporated into a website header easily (with a simple addition of the website name), as well as being an easily-identifiable logo which can be used unobtrusively for whatever purposes you see fit.

The other two are much larger, although the upside of this is that they do convey a lot more information (the website name). Due to their size and design, I would not consider them as 'logos'. They are not compact enough, nor are they particularly distinctive - the mobile phone in Concept 3 looks rather generic, and speech bubbles such as those featured in Concept 2 are used prolifically in most mobile-based media, and thus their impact will be diluted by this, though they do look nice.

So I'd say go with the first one

    @ Mary Greene,

Thank you for your kind words!

    Will do.

    @ esquiree

I did not not see if you did this on your forum or not..

Have you tried letting your members have a vote?

You might be able to create some "buzz" as well by making a big deal about it.

"HELP CHOOSE THE NEW LOGO FOR".

Have people join to vote "poll" etc..

Make a quick vid, post to relevant places about the event, etc..

It's a pretty decent marketing strategy to help you get more members, as well, it let's your current members know and feel that what they think matters. "participation"

    Just a thought.

    Regards,
    FBM.

#1 is a logo. Nice, but many websites are not remembered by their logo. Website domains are remembered by their name. So if the logo is not the domain, then people may not remember it as well. Many top companies and brands have their name spelled out in their logo.

So, although, from a design perspective I like cool logos. I opt for more of a header/logo where the name of the website is spelled out. I find this generally works best for branding a blogsite.

Taking into account your theme, I'd probably pick #2 for design and readability.

    Hope that helps. Good luck!

I'm going to go against the flow and say #1 is my LAST choice. Personally, I think #3 needs a little touching up to make the best logo of the three: drop the text bubble with the initials; the initials AND the site name is too much. I like the phone in it because it connects the site name with the concept. The three colored squares are good, but maybe go on the phone's screen (with a white? background instead of green). That's my two cents. I think your designer stopped too soon on #3.

Concept #2 would be my second choice, but I'm not sure the three text bubbles paint the correct image in the viewer's mind about what the site is about. It's not (I don't think) a social site.

All of that and a $1.64 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Wish the best of luck with your site.

Think of how many other logos you see that have a bunch of random letters thrown together with a 3d / metal / generic effect. How is your logo going to be original / standout / be memorable. Go on twitter and search for #logo and see if yours would stand out from that bunch.

    Concept #1

I like the way it looks like an app button on a phone, compliments the forum well. Maybe try placing text on the right side of the logo (like it is now) since you don't have much space for the header on the forum. You could make the header larger but you don't want to push your ads down too far.

Also, get rid of the squares in the background or come up with something else. With concept #1 and a plain black background that would clean things up nicely.
