I've recently purchased a domain and signed up with a host (on an initial 30 day trial). However, as I am new at this, I could use some expert advice on a few things

I'm trying to create an affiliate site and I've managed to install Wordpress through the the control panel on my host, but I'm unsure what to do next.
Do i now use Wordpress for everything? What about storing images, files etc?

I've read articles saying you should create files in your directory with your host, such as public/wp-content etc. If this is true, how would I transfer them to wordpress? Is it more of case of doing everything with wordpress and all data is automatically stored with the web host??

I've enclosed a screenshot of the control panel for my host if that helps...

Please help. I just need to get started and then I'll be fine...

I agree with shqipo, you need to learn on how to use Wordpress.

When I last checked on Google, if you type "Wordpress bible", you can download the complete manual which teaches on how to use it.

I agree with learning WordPress and installing the necessary theme and plugins, but don't lose sight of creating content.

I suggest finding a theme you like and then start writing content. You can install plugins and play with all the options after you put the site to work. Your goal is to make money, right? Learn as you go but always work toward your goals first.

You will need to do some research on the best plugins to use. Depending on what type of site, those change. It can be a bit intimidating to figure out in the beginning.

The other hard choice is the theme. Each has its own look and pro's/con's. I usually get the content done and then start looking at diff themes to see which would look the best for what I am trying to accomplish. Another method is to see what others who are trying to promote similar items are using and then start there.

or another step would be if you don't want a plain default theme's you could always search for wordpress themes do and put in some of the cool contents in your wordpress so that the readers will come back for more.
