I have a problem that is driving me nuts. On one of my blogs, I post video's, they are either flv or swf files. I was using the FLV-embed plug-in and I thought it was working perfectly. I was embedding flv and swf files without a problem. Come to find out, one of my members told me one of the video's was stopping before the end.

Sure enough, the video was not finishing, only about half of it was playing. The half that worked, was fine. Thing is, I know this video works, I even tried uploading it a couple times, thinking maybe it didn't upload completely. Also, when I play the video on a regular webpage, though a camtasia set-up, the video plays fine, all the way to the correct ending point.

I searched the wordpress site and tried 4-5 different plug-ins, most I could not even get to work, but the one that did work, the video played the same way, not finishing.

So I am at a loss, is it because the file is swf format? OR does any one have a plug-in that works well for embedding flash, flv and swf? I have other swf files that play fine. Maybe it's just this one?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Hi Ron,

    Have you tried this plugin:
    Viper's Video Quicktags

I use it and think it's really good

  • Its possible but I think you need some plug-in to work the swf. file in WP.

I had a similar problem and found that in Camtasia I had indicated the video to play for only 1 minute. When I tested the video in Camtasia it played fine but when I put it on my blog it was short.

I don't remember where in Camtasia I found the length of time for the video. Hope this helps.

Yep, that's pretty much what's happening. I did not encode this file, but I think I might have the raw video file and might try re-encoding it, or what ever it's called, I'm no video expert

Very odd they have a setting like that isn't it?

      Thanks for the post.
