Wedding website structuring headache help warriors
Looking for a little direction with a WP site.
I am about to start work on a large wedding magazine themed website using WP for a friend. The Site will bring tips and ideas for DIY Brides. I would really like to set this up correct first time around making correct use of pages, categories & tags.
My issue should i create many pages and sub pages to cover the main topic areas of the site?
(Reason i ask this is, I would like to remove the category slug in the url like site.com/category/tabletop-arrangements/) Getting a lot a conflicting inforamtion on the best approach to this.
Or go with categories for the related main pages.
The plan is that she will be able to just log into the CMS and create a post and either just click the correct category and tags if needed.
Example Parent Page : The Wedding Event
Example sub page: Venues
Example sub page: Vendors
Example sub page: Favors
Example sub page: Tabletops
Having a major brain fart on this one as i just went and created 48 pages including subs. I have created a mirror replica of categories 48 again.
Using the Genesis theme/framework if that helps. Should i no index the tags or categories or both? So that they will not end up outranking the content? Some folks here recommend different actions for this??
