I am getting the following error in my underneath my sidebar:

The following is shown in the source code:

I cannot where that is being done anywhere in the Theme Editor. I tired Googling it but to no avail.

Has anyone seen this before?

Here is the theme I am using - http://www.web2feel.com/engamer/

It isn't live on my site yet, so a URL is pointless

  • 1. The requested URL /wp_links/wp_links.php was not found on this server. - your answer may just be in front of you. See if that file is missing from your server (hosting account). login via FTP or control panel and see if it's missing.
    2. I think the theme developer can be more helpful. Try contacting them first.

    • That is not a wordpress file. It will not be there. It is also not in the correct location for the theme. That means a plugin or theme has an incorrectly coded path.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks

  • has to be a plugin or the theme causing it.
Disable your plugins and re-enable them one at a time.

    • I already tried to disable them all and the error didn't go away.

      Any other suggestions?
  • I sent you a pm... get me a login and I will figure it out.
I may or may not need ftp access.
  • I cant get to the PM's keep getting a server timeout error.

I would not use that theme. I wrapped the error in a display:none div to hide it, but I cant get rid of it. Something strange is going on in the header of that theme. there is some eval(base64_decode(..... code in the header. You don't hide code like that.

Again in the footer a lot of data is being passed to: intensedebate.com/js/wordpressTemplateLinkWrapper2.php

There is no way I would let that theme run on my server. It is just bad practice
to encode stuff like that. You only do it to hide your intentions. Addin the fact that
there is no function for wp_code, yet that is not throwing an error. That means that function is hidden somewhere.
  • I have decoded that crap they added in the header. It is actually pretty smart. They look to see if you are an admin, if not they add a bunch of spam links. They are getting the links from:

    www.webspacehosting.com/wp_links/wp_links.php
    nolimitswebdesign.com/wp_links/wp_links.php

    the first link is broken.
The second link is a site that sells backlinks.

Basically you get a free theme, they get millions of links.
Your header will be filled with back links, if you are not an admin.

I stripped all that crap out of the theme and it is working fine.
You can use it, but I still would not.

    That is just shady practice.
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • Just this week saw something similar, but it seems the code was injected into header.php. Truth be told the owner was using a combo like: admin/123... that's why he got hacked.

OP, where are you hosting this particular site, if you don't mind sharing details? The one I saw hacked was in hostgator (not their fault).
  • Thanks for your help, I sent a response via PM.

Fernando - I use Webhostingpad for my hosting.

    • Cheers Mike, hope you get this solved fast. Don't forget to check all your other sites hosted there, just as a safety measure. Grab all the header.php files from your sites, and check them one by one.

      @frenchsquared, great job man. Kudos!!
  • Glad to help...

I dont think he got hacked, the theme was not active.
and it was in multiple file locations.

I think the themes distributor is adding that code.
  • The themes devloper says he did not code it that way.
I asked him for a link to a clean theme. If he sends it I will check it and post it here.

The developer gave me a clean copy. Download: engamer

Where did you get your copy from?

I am not techie at all! Did not mess with my folders or files, nor did I install any new plugin or theme the past week. If anything, I deleted a plugin 15 hours ago and the blog was working fine after that. Now it isn't
  • Oh great, now when I type in my URL I'm directed to drupal

    Help please
