I was just wondering if people are using xSitePro these days.

I design the 50 bonus templates about 3-4 years ago, and was wondering if people are still using it. I guess not? lol

Anybody still using it?

I tried it out recently. I purchased it, was not that impressed and got a refund.

It's not that it's a bad product, it's just that Wordpress is a thousand times better and is free :-). Use Wordpress for free, then spend the money you save on a good theme system like Artisteer or Headway etc.

Wordpress is better for extensibility, SEO, themes, community support, the fact you can update it online with no software from any PC. It is just tonnes better.

Wordpress is a disrubtive technology that has rendered most PC web design tools useless looking or just plain expensive looking for most of the tasks internet marketers would be doing.

      Yes I still use xSitePro.

I use it to create squeeze pages, download pages etc as it is fast and easy.

All my niche sites are Wordpress however.

If I want a site to rank well I build it with Wordpress.
Wordpress offers all sorts of themes and plugins for sales pages/squeeze pages etc but they are not always the easiest to implement.

If I didn't already have xSitePro would I buy it. Probably not!

I use XSP, WP and a html coder.

I'm just curious as to how many web designers have ever been "able to deploy any type of setup of WP website for free".

I agree that the basic WP framework, with any of the basic free WP templates, which are eligible to be hosted by WP, are certainly free.

But what about those folks using WP that don't/can't use free hosting or want a unique (brand-able) template design?
Has anyone ever obtained real world statistics on the price range for a WP website, INCLUDING add-ons/tools that provide
      "good-to-cutting-edge-monitization" of that web site?

I sat down and started to add up all the costs/fees for the following:
      1. XSP
      2. an HTML coding pkg.
      3. WP - personal and/or biz websites and items needed to make money with such a WP web site.

      - various WP theme frameworks offered by various vendors ($65 to $100+)
      - monitization type plug-ins for ebay and/or amazon (auction 2 post or phpbay/phpzon, amazon store builder, etc)
      - SEO tools (this category has at least one well known free tool that is highly rated)
      - anti-spam tools
      -auto-responder
      -etc

Some WP extras are free but the better quality ones usually seem to be the paid ones.

I use all 3 options, but so far have not gotten anything close to a "free" WP website, that also was monitized.

Just curious as to how someone matched feature sets like XSP has, on the WP platform? What their final cost was?
And what they feel are necessary, "Must have" paid WP extras, for money-making and/or excellent timesaving?

      Thanks in advance.

I use to....but now for web designing, i use other website-builder to design web-pages; best & easy solution for website creation is provided by word-press & for full E commerce solution i use Nanacast. Yea but xSitePro, its damn outdated & useless in my opinion as they haven't updated with passing time.

      I still use XSitePro.

Unless I particularly want user interaction, I don't really see the point of opting for a blogging platform over a static site.

There are several sites built with XSitePro that I've hardly touched in 5 years, yet they're still ranking just as well today. I wouldn't be as comfortable leaving any WordPress site that long without at least updating the security plugins, if not installing a completely new version.

Yes I still use Xsitepro... it's much faster and easier for me to set up a site with Xsitepro...plus I don't have to deal with all the security issues and constant updates. It's not as pretty and fancy as wordpress (with all the plugins) but my sites are pretty simple. As for rankings and SEO, I'm not sure if there is any difference.

I have actually had XSitePro installed since it was in Beta awhile ago.

I played with it for period of time and then I just forgot about it for some reason.

Your email reminded me that I still had it on my computer so I went and took a look at it and realized that there were several major updates waiting to be installed.

WOW! Before the updates I thought it was a little klunky and un-intuitive (is that a word?) but now I think it the product is absolutely awesome!

I am actually recreating my website as we speak, kind of as an exercise in the depth and breadth of the program more then anything else.

Once I am done (should only take me till the end of the weekend) I will give you a more thorough testimonial on the product.

    Hi Minisite911,
I am interested to know too.
I would also like to ask if we can make Xsitepro into some of those wordpress review sites or amazon product review site , is that possible ? there are product posting plugins for wordpress but how to do it with xsitepro (unless we manually add them).. it use to have a PHPZon api version that we could use but they have temporary halt selling that.

Xsitepro is still one of the best unique multipage site builders out there

We have had it since daydot and are still glad to be getting lifetime updates for FREE!

WP has its own place online, so has XSP!

Great tool for client based multipage cpa sites with a real easy way to flip

Takes a while to get used to the GUI and what is what, but after a while it is super efficient, just always remember to change the default footprint / tags in the code BEFORE you publish / put a site live / ftp anything!

      Hi Everyone,

I've just joined this forum for the sole purpose of speaking badly about Xsitepro. And for anyone who wants to fight me on this and say they've never had a problem (you're not another affiliate are you ???), well I have. Either you're lucky or I'm unlucky.

It's OK but only when it doesn't screw up stuff you've already done. It's the only website building software I've used so I can't comment on how it compares, but one way I would describe it is: BUGGY.

A small problem I had today was selecting text I wanted to delete. I could select it but neither the cut button or the delete button would get rid of it. I had to place the cursor at the end and backspace all the way.

I've just spent an hour and a half making anchors and links for a certain page. I then move that page up in the page directory tree and ALL my anchors on that page have VANISHED. All the links that go back to the anchors now go to the page only (top of the page), not to where the anchors were on the page. I've got about 15 small photos going down the page, each linking to larger photos on individual pages. I put anchors next to each small photo then links at the top and bottom of the large photos on the individual pages linking back to the anchors. Everything was working great, then ALL my anchors vanish into this air as soon as I move my page to another location in the directory tree.

I live in fear with this "application". Table layouts get screwed up when you do something innocent but the crappy programming doesn't know how to deal with it. I'm using the latest version 2.5 too. It was easy to reverse something that stuffed up table formatting, but now that all my anchors have just vanished after all my work, I've really lost the plot and want to warn others. I'll have to start all over again with the anchors and links.

I'd probably be on the Xsitepro forum right now asking for help but I've only just tried to log into their forum and now it won't let me log in so I can't get support off other members until they reactivate my login details. I've been logging in asking about solutions to other issues, some of which were simply due to lack of BASIC information in their PDF manuals. Perhaps they didn't like me bringing up certain things and locked me out ????

They talk about their super 1500+ pages of pdf file that come with the software and how it covers everything. Oh yeah ? well try and find any information on how to format tables. All it says is right click on a table or cell and then select table or cell properties to get the properties boxes. But then nothing about HOW to use the table / cell properties boxes. Seems like you need to be continually connected to the forum to get real instruction from other users.

I'm starting to feel this software is more popular due to marketting and ten trillion affiliates pushing it (just Google Xsitepro). They have a video course on website building that can probably make you quite good with the software (as long as its bugs stay at bay) but they won't even sell it to you. All they will do is rent it to you for $300/year (still on "special" at the moment for $200/year), and it's streaming video so you have to be on the internet to view the videos. I emailed them asking if the ever have plans to sell the videos so I can own them AND watch them offline. You can probably guess I never got a reply. Sorry but it just feels to me like their system is set up to get you all hyped up and fork out money.

Unfortuneatly, I'm stuck using this buggy software because I don't have time to start learning another package. I have a business website to get on line ASAP and so will have to just try and work around its bugginess. But now I'm scared stiff of future changes to my website in case other stuff just "dissapears" or gets messed up.

I'm not an Xsitepro enemy (but will be with a few more experiences like the above), just wanting to warn others to try and get feedback from other users. And watch out for the affiliates, they're everywhere !

Sorry to hear that. I am not an AFFILIATE. X-Site Pro and their training course took me to where i am at today, a leading SEO consultant and designer in Charlotte NC. Every site i have ever made with x-site pro ranks in the top 3 for it's niche. Easy to use, never had a problem, REMEMBER to save your work each time, Their course taught me a lot about web design etc. With some nice custom graphics u couldn't tell a wordpress site from an X-Site, unless u looked at the code. But i have the #2 auto repair charlotte nc website with x-site pro. Doesn't look the best but my guy's phone rings all the time, and that's what matters!!

I guess I'm just cursed then.

I'm back on their forum now trying to find out how to deal with the "wonderful" built in editor. I've uninstalled and re-installed Xsitepro today, redone all my anchors (which are now not vanishing, thankfully), and am starting to change and add to existing text.

This editor though, is doing all sorts of crazy things, indenting all my text, and doing allsorts of other completely wrong things.

My computer is modern, I5 processor, etc, Windows 7. I run 3D cad software, Coreldraw Graphics Suite X5, etc and have no problems with those or any other softwar, but with Xsitepro, well what can I say.

I do use XSitePro as my main website builder. After coding in HTHL it did take a bit of a jump to see how XSitePro works with the panel system that it uses. However once I got that under my belt ( going through the tutorial PDF highly recommended even for seasoned web designers), then I was amazed at how fast XSitePro creates pages and sites. I specially like the Quick Page feature where XSitePro styles a web page for you as you create it.

As for the editor, I have seen that it uses a self correcting editor. This means that if you add bad HTML code the editor will try to fix it. I am expecting that this is what happened in pityakker's case. There is a way around it though. If you add <nodesigner> & </nodesigner> tags, the editor will leave the code you enter between those two tags alone. This is great for entering HTML5 code that the XSitePro editor seems to want to edit all the time.

XSitePro is not all things to all people. For example there's no database engine built in, so no logins, no shopping carts, no forums. The recommendation form the XSitePro support team is that you install these in a sub-folder. This works, but it shows up what XSitePro is best at doing, creating flat HTML websites, with great SEO blindingly quick!

As for the original question. There seems to be a sizeable number of users using XSitePro, but the availability of templates is much smaller that WordPress & all. I would suggest that there is an open market there for designers to convert templates from other sources in to XSitePro templates and corner the market. All you need to do is tell the XSitePro users that you have some templates for sale!

Frankly I use Wordpress for most stuff. Had never really heard of xSitePro. I still use HTML editors like Visual Web Developer to write my own code that I often use on Worpress sites. Just because you use Wordpress doesn't mean you don't need to do some coding yourself Wordpress is quite simply a huge time saver. After taking a look at xSitePro I can't see that it does anything that I wouldn't rather do myself, at least for what it does do.

The one thing I like about XSP is the impressive amount of PDF help files provided.
Hard to find many other software vendors that dedicate that much effort to creating user help files.
The help files pretty much answer any questions (except I'd like to see more mentioned on the use of tokens)

Three different PDF files, with over 1,300 pages of instruction.
        1. Basics - 87 pages
        2. Essentials -247 pages
        3. Tools -1,061 pages

I purchased it right after a big upgrade over a year ago. It could be 2 years. Oh how time flies. I also thought I was purchasing the video tutorials (which were great BTW) Bad on my part that I didn't notice that I could only use them for 1 year. I had a busy year and never finished watching them so I was pretty disappointed. They do offer a discount if you purchase/rent them at the same time that you purchase the editor though and I received a notice from them around Christmas that I could pick them up again for an even deeper discount. I don't remember exactly but I think it was something like $65. Please don't quote me on that but I do know that it was for considerably less than the original amount which was $97. for the year. They do run specials now and then so you may want to get on their email list to receive them. James Schramko (hope I'm spelling his name correctly) used to offer a pretty nifty checklist if you purchased through him. I don't know if he still does but I see him here on the WF so you may want to shoot him a PM.
He was a pretty active affiliate for them for a while there so I purchased it from him and his support was pretty awesome... at the time... I have no idea what he's up to these days nor do I know if the checklist exists anymore but I do know that XSitepro does offer specials now and then so hope that helps.

I bought XSP through bitsdujour a couple years ago, for 40% off.
(xsitepro seems to show up at Bitsdujour about once every 12 months, on average. Normally at 40% off.)

The application's own "HELP" PDF files were almost 1300 or 1400 pages in total, so I joined the monthly "VIP" club for $25/month to see some video training instead.

Some videos in the club were mp4 format and could be downloaded.
(Actually I thought I somewhere on their VIP site that all training videos would be reformatted into the mp4 format, with downloading available. But then some videos actually changed the other direction; from downloadable mp4 to streaming)
Others were streaming only and required a good screen capture app like Litecam3 by innoheim.com, if you wanted to save for re-watching.

Intellimon.com has offered specialized videos in special courses:
            - the traffic building course. (MP4 downloadable)
            - The web site builder's course (MP4 downloadable)
(but I thought that these courses are also accessable forever, not time limited to just one year. But their being mp4 makes sure you download them at least once to your pc)

He was a pretty active affiliate for them for a while there so I purchased it from him and his support was pretty awesome... at the time... I have no idea what he's up to these days nor do I know if the checklist exists anymore
Thank you for the nice words.
I moved on to using wordpress and closed down all my XSitePro promotions. As an affiliate I only promote products that I feel are the best available solution and XSitePro is not currently the best solution for most people. When I moved from PC to mac that was the final move. Online CMS platforms are far more felxible and Wordpress has become super well supported and powerful.

I now have wordpress development services (we build the sites for people). Generally our customers make a lot more money focusing on marketing and
not learning how to build a wordpress. Just how to use Wordpress (we give free training).

Also I switched my (lucrative) XSitePro promotions to promoting Wordpress themes like optimizepress and genesis etc... which are for most people better web based solutions than a desktop HTML program. I still teach the things I had in the XSP Cheat Sheet through my various information products and IM forum FastWebFormula.

Hey ya know what I just had a look at their webpage and watched one of the videos. Ya know it actually looks pretty good One of the big reasons I use Wordpress is because of all the stuff i.e. plugins that are already written for it There's just a whole lot of work it saves me compared to building up a site from scratch. I still do a lot of tweaking and hand coding to my sites. After looking over XSitePro I'm thinking it might actually be worth the cost. Maybe.

Watching the video it occurs to me how many things have to be done to get a site SEO ready in addition to everything else. Just having a tool that makes sure you cross all of your t's and dot all of your i's is probably worth the cost.

I use X-Site mainly for LOCAL business sites. Tree service, auto repair etc. The reason why is it is really simple to use, a local business site really doesnt need more than that, it has built in captcha and dynamic mail scripts, like and tweet button, widget ready, it is a nice robust little system. They rank very well in Google, well that depends on the user, but with the right SEO with no magic plugin, i rank all my sites in google top 3. So for you newbies that need a great solution, XSite will get you in the right direction.

I have just purchased XSitePro and have to say I love it so far! They've just sent me an email with a special offer for XHeaderPro, does anyone have this product already? Is it a worthwhile purchase? I do NEED a header, but figured I'd ask around first ...

Yes I have XHeaderPro it comes in two flavours XHeader that has 50 headers that you can add to any website ( not just XSitePro sites). It also comes with a basic graphics editor that allows you to place shapes, text and imported images on to the header. The editor is just enough to get you creating a custom header without all the usual complicated stuff.

The premium XHeaderPro has the same editor but 5,000 header. The first 500 are headers found in the free version, so this is 4,500 additional headers for the $49.
This is the version I went for as I create loads of smaller websites, so the extra header pay for them selves quickly ( no need for stock images or a designer).

If anyone has not see XHeader you can find it at xheader.com

I have never used XSitePro because it is way too expensive at $197 for a single user license.

I am still using Xsite Pro and was not happy when I found out the company no longer exists. I recently built a website with a video I uploaded to You tube, however, the links to all my pages, including the video page takes 3 taps on a smart phone to play or for the page to load.

I am not sure why this is the case since it does finally open after the third tap. Does anyone know how to fix this on Xsite Pro? Or, is this the situation since the company is now nonexistent and there are no updates happening? My site is theboulevard.tv. Thanks for your feedback.

Hiya! I am using it right now. Admitted it is an older site. Of course I finally had to just give it up for Wordpress. But... let me tell you something. The site I just tweaked has over 600 pages and it is doing FANTASTIC on Google. It should not be because it breaks every current rule. But everything I built it for is coming up near the top of page one. Thousands of search terms. I had not checked in a long time and I was absolutely amazed. I come back once a year around this time to search and replace a slew of last year's dates. This thing STILL works for its intended purpose and the pages look pretty neat too. If I were going to build another megasite dependent on organic SEO I think I'd still be tempted to use it. (I mean, a site for me...not a customer.) Everything I have imparted is strange...but true. Hope all is well in the year 2036 when you see this post. Ha.

I've been using XSitepro for the past 4 years and have build more than 10 websites which are ranking well. I'm changing my computer and need to download the XSitepro software which I'm currently using version 2.550. However, found out that XSitepro's team and their website no more in operation.

Anyone can help to advise is there anyway I can download the XSitepro to my new computer so that I can continue using it for a while before I switch to Wordpress later which I will need a lot of time to figure out how to use?

If really there is no way to use XSitepro, anyone can advise me on how to convert it to Wordpress? Its just copy the source code to Wordpress or is there a better way. I'm no nothing about coding anyway. Please kindly advise. Thank you.
