I swear, Wordpress can be a pain in the a$$ sometimes

So here I am, trying to post my article to Wordpress and do my online SEO. First sub heading the Paragraph 2 does not work so I go in and place the tag manually.

Second sub heading again it does not work and turns it to uper case without any larger font size or bolding. Again I go to the HTML and place the tags manually but it insists on just making it uppercase, no matter how I try to force the issue.

All I can say is WTH is going on?

Link to wordpress site? Definitely sounds like a theme issue. Have you tried the default Twenty Ten theme to see if you can reproduce the issue?

It could be CSS overriding the custom tag. It would be easier to point out the error if we could see the website.

That stuff is all over my head. I realized that I had not yet installed my theme (Thesis 18) and when I installed it, it seems to be working fine. I must have been using the default theme.

I have some skins for that theme, but don't know how to install them if anyone has any instructions. I don't know what I did with the instructions, but I can't find them now I want to use them.

When I saw your your title " I swear, Wordpress can be a pain in the a$$ sometimes" I laughed because I guess I can be considered a little old school since I my sites are built using HTML.

Now that I'm ranking sites for local businesses, most of them use WordPress. From my experience so far it can be very fickle when updating plugins and the theme the customer is using. Recently I have had the title tags deleted from my clients pages by updating the theme and Google re-crawled the site right afterwards and lost all my rankings.

I have also had trouble with undoing changes made by a particular plugin. It seems sometimes when you make a change and later undo the change, it won't update.

I'm getting ready to build my own site advertising my SEO services and am still debating on staying with HTML or try WordPress.

I use HTML sometimes and have had people laugh at me and tell me I should be using WP. I am not great at it, but if I need help there is always Youtube.com or I can ask questions here at WF. I am not sold on the 'its the greatest platform' crap. There is a lot that is handy about it, but it can be a real pain sometimes.

Right now... Wordpress is simply the best. I've used several tools for web design, but I still find Wordpress to be the best design platform that can be used easily for various types of projects.

Many themes have their own styles that override standard settings, which makes things look wrong sometimes when u try one theme after another. Sucks but with trial and error you can usually fix it.

Set it to how you want it in the HTML with the style tag. Put !important next to the attributes.

What you need to keep in mind is that every single WP theme will have it's own stylesheet (some themes allow you to set font styles/sizes etc in the WP admin, others don't)

Each theme will define how the headings, titles, bullet points etc, etc look. So if you don't like the look of something, either use another theme or change the CSS.

Yeah, that's a very "wise" approach... until one day the big G. decides to delete without a trace all your blogger stuff. Then what?
