    The term 'best' is subjective.

Wordpress is like a Ford F250 Pickup Truck. It's heavy duty and will do many things for you, but sometimes you need a more powerful vehicle to do the job.

Joomla is comparable to a Mack Truck. It's big and bulky and has a lot of super power. However, sometimes you don't need that much power.

Drupal, in my experience, is a waste of time.

It really depends on the job you're doing to select the proper CMS.

If you're making a simple or personal site, WordPress is a powerful solution and likely all you'll need.

If you're a larger company with a need for advanced functionality and future-proof-ness, aim for Joomla.

If you're a masochist who loves to spin their wheels creating code to do simple things, go for Drupal. (This one is more for the software developers among us.)

    Wrong question. Very wrong question...

CMS stands for Content Management System - NOT for web design tool.

All the tools you listed above are for publishing content on the web and they are NOT web design tools. Period.

      I'm glad someone's paying attention :p

The best web design tools I have found after the last couple decades spent working on it is Notepad++, a bookmark to W3Schools Online Web Tutorials, and a Developer Toolbar (ff) for your preferred browser.

That being said, you might consider figuring out what you actually want to do before you build a website, as deciding on how to design the website using your content management system shows that you're probably off to a bad start.

Wordpress is the clear winner, great for both small and large projects.

Wordpress (with a CMS theme) for simplicity.

Joomla for a full CMS, but can be quite complex to use.

      Hi,

most used is wordpress. Usually for blogs.
Joomla is also great for smaller sites
Drupal made for more complex sites (facebook is made with drupal)
      and magento for e-commerce sites.

Wordpress is pretty easy and you will find loads of tutorials out there as it has the biggest community.

I find that Wordpress is the most used frames on the Internet. It's capable of anything. Each framework or CMS has its own driven purpose and was created for different reasons.

The php structure is greatly different in my opinion.
