how can i make a free wordpress directory website ?

Not sure what your asking? Using wordpress as a directory? Just put listings in posts? Am I missing something?

Not a big deal but for that you have to gather or collect as much of data or information and u can use PHP for the easy development but if you are good at ASP technoogy then it takes some hours only to create that website with all collected content.

Wordpress is a fantastic CMS, but I don't see how it's the best choice to use it as a full blown directory type site. I could be wrong.

There are ton's of scripts out there, php scripts for example, you could use to make a directory site, made to do just what your looking for.

  It's a custom theme, but heavily modified. I have a local directory that I use it on, and it works great. It just takes a little time to configure everything.
  
  It is licensed though, so it won't even work without purchasing a license and getting a key.

No problem. The reason I suggested that, is because I know for a fact it works, and works out of the box. I don't think you're going to find product that works like this for free. There's a lot of time involved in making something like that.

Kingfish, what is involved with uploading this to wordpress?
I get a domain, then install wordpress right? Then what would I do from there?

Correct. You need to purchase a hosting account, install Wordpress and then install the theme.

Installing the theme itself is pretty simple as well as configuring it. You do have to purchase the theme from Premium Press though. I have worked with Mark Fail in the past, and they provide great support for their themes. The response is delayed due to time zones sometimes, but they have never given me any problems. I had to have some very specific things done, and they assisted me with doing so.
