Uploading Large Files on Wordpress?

Is there a way (maybe a pluggin) that a viewer could upload a large file (100MB) to my wordpress based website. It does not need to be anything fancy at all. It just needs to be a simple way for them to give me the file.

  • Only way I can think is with FTP. If you want to give some one those details. Or make a temp FTP account for them. Would be easier and probably faster upload.
  • The maximum allowed file upload size depends on your server/PHP configuration. But, if your setup allows large files of 100MB to be uploaded, you can use one of the contact form plugins that allow file uploading, e.g. WordPress › Custom Contact Forms « WordPress Plugins

    Or, use an uploading plugin, like WordPress › Nmedia Users File Uploader Plugin « WordPress Plugins

  • Your best bet is to do it manually via FTP. Allowing users to upload files of that size is asking for trouble. There are limits for a reason.

      Furthermore, as it was said but not emphasized enough for you: this is NOT a WordPress and/or plugin issue.

      It is a server setup and security issue. You can talk about it with your host but, most likely, they will not be happy about it...

    You can use sendspace.com to upload files of up to 300mb for free. Easiest and quickest way to share files.

    • I agree here. I would suggest a third party source. It will a lot easier.

      Sendspace or Dropbox would work.
    • There's also SugarSync (5 GB though).
  • Use CPanel to upload large files, OR edit file size limit in wp-config.php

  • you can upload you file to your website using FTP (filezilla or cuteftp)
