Hi,

I am using the Church child theme on the Genesis framework and although the featured image option is enabled both in the theme's settings and WP settings, the images still won't display.

I have no clue what I can do about it other than probably switch over from Genesis to other frameworks or themes, which I wouldn't like.

Anybody else who ran into this issue in the past and knows how to fix this?

Thanks

Sometimes this can be finicky. Try completely removing the image from the site and make sure it's not too big. Over 2000 px. Then retry. If nothing. Let me know.

it's the same. I am questioning however if there is something wrong with my theme. I've googled about this theme and it was supposed to have color theme option available but this option is nowhere to be found in my theme settings.

Also, I am not sure what you meant by "completely removing the image from the site". All I did was to delete the image from the post and then reinsert it in the post from the same URL where it is located (in wp-content/uploads/ etc etc)

Should I remove it from that folder too, and then re-add it back to 'uploads" and reinsert it in the post? Should I rename it before adding it? I don't know ....

Thanks anyway for trying to help

    Hi,

Have you made the particular image "use as featured image" in the media browser?

One way to troubleshoot is to checkout the source code of where the image should be appearing and see what file it's trying to pull. Track down the filepath and you'll be able to see what is going wrong.

You know what? It worked flawlessly

My mistake (which is not mine actually) was that I inserted images in the posts from URL, instead of from my computer. And inserting them from an URL (ie. the location in wp-content/uploads/ etc where I had stored them for future reference) didn't grant me the option to save/use the images as featured image.

The instance I thought about inserting them from my computer instead from the URL, it worked sooooo smoothly

      Thanks for the pointers. Cheers!

      Hey,

do you happen to know how I can align the text in the featured posts on the home page left and right too ("justify" style that is)?

Dang! Sometimes I am so ... ignorant or rushed, let's say (not dumb :p)

I could have set the feature image anytime if only I knew how. Inserting images in posts through the "my computer" or "from URL" methods or from any other location is really irrelevant. I just rediscovered the section that allows for image handling (setting them as featured, adjusting the sizes, links and texting etc) and none of these settings has anything to do with where the images are inserted in posts from.

Again, thanks for the pointers. If you didn't mention them I'd still be staring at the screen trying to figure out how to set featured images in WP
