Hi,
I am not tech savvy at all. Presently I am building a Wordpress CMS. My contents include a number of image, about 35 in all, but they are small (50 to 60 K pixels).
Just wondering, these image (35 x 60) = 2,100 K pixels, will they slow down the download speed at my visitors' browsers? Would a better solution be splitting the content into several pages with internal links between pages?

If you display all those images on one page, it may slow down the page loading, but you could always use a caching plugin to make it load faster.

Would probably be better, though, to split them over more than one page.

I'd use a thumbnail to bring the users to an entirely separate page... depending on the need of your site and these images. I wouldn't want to get a high bounce rate because of them if they're just decor

The best thing to do is use some kind of portfolio plugin or gallery plugin. This won't load up any of those huge images instead they would be loaded as thumbnail which are small in sizes and when users click on them they would get the maximize version.

Further also make sure that whatever javascript codes you are using in you files, place them just above the closing </body>

  You are worrying about things that used to be a concern years ago. Now, Internet speed is fast and 2MB images on a page is not an issue. Go and check my website Smart Web Worker - WordPress tutorials, WordPress themes & web design resources. Many images are huge. It loads pretty fast.

if the images are small (few kb's) then it wont be a problem. As suggested you can use a cache plugin in your wordpress. There are several out there available.
