Wordpress Membership Plugins... Latest Options?

Hi Folks,

I'm looking for more options for Wordpress membership sites.

Currently we are running Wishlist, but the incomplete membership registration bug is just costing us too much money. Also we need more integration options.

What else is out there?

Can anyone give me some their experience (I don't want to build the next site married to the wrong platform).
thanks

wpmemberchamp is the fastest to set up but also has least amount of options.

There is algo digital access pass which is extremely robust but does not work well with hostgator and is quite complicated.

DAP actually works very well with Hostgator. A large number of our users are using DAP on hostgator, as they are a popular shared hosting service with great support.

Wishlist member is amazing. High cost and has a steep learning curve. Once learned though can do pretty much everything and it integrates well with all the services.

I just recently purchased a plugin called wpsalesbuddy. I'm still in the process of setting it up but it might be suitable for you.

Only problem for me is its only compatible with Paypal so that is going to be restrictive.

Well, I bought WP Salesbuddy too in the past... and got frustrated by all things that are not possible... It's really a low-end plugin and can't replace Wishlist Members in any way... or even compete with it. The affiliate 'addon' for WP Salesbuddy wasn't even to show a normal signup form on all themes...

For me DAP (Digital Access Pass) works perfectly. It's not a 'plugin', but a seperate membership administration backend which controls via a plugin access to WordPress and the userinterface of the backend is terrible, but the service is great and if you use it in combination with OptimizePress, you can build great membership sites.

Plain and simple Wishlist Member wins this race. While it is costly it can pretty much do anything you want. There is a bit to learn to really get the most out of it but once you get the hang of it and know your way around you will love it!! Save yourself the heartache and don't buy all these cheap crappy plugins that only do a bit of this and a bit of that. I guarantee you will If you are serious about membership sites Wishlist Member is the choice of the champions.

    Cheers

We have Wishlist, the limitations and dealbreakers have first been the incomplete registration problem with Paypal integration. Next it doesn't support full integration with MoneyBookers or AlertPay.

Have you found a way around these limitations, perhaps with some custom coding?

        Mirnova,

Thanks for your question. I actually do not know the answer but can I suggest you lodge a ticket with OP customer support. They are very good at providing quick and valuable answers in our experience.

I would be interested to hear how you get on.

        Cheers

I think the most important is first to decide what do you want with your membership sites, do you have multiple levels of membership and if you have, does it mean that membership level 'Gold' is the same as membership level 'Silver' with some extra content, or do you want to sell different products from the same site ? (For example several related trainings, but not everybody has to buy the same products).

Then an important question is if you want to use 'content dripping', and if you do, is the 'drip' period the same as the payment period (monthly payments and monthly new content) or not (weekly updates and monthly payment)... And do you want to use the same content pages in multiple membership options ?

If you have those questions clear, it's lot's easier to make your decission and instead of choosing from 10+ plugins, you only have 2-3 left...

Well, the originator of this post, did have problems with it and as such is looking for an alternative... so if you think there are no problems, maybe you and the originator should spar together to see how to solve his problems... because migration from one membership plugin to another is ALWAYS a hell of a job, it's better to solve the problems...

Wishlist Member + OptimizePress is a winning combination for me. There's comprehensive training videos on how to integrate the two in the optimizepress training area of their site.

Magic Memebers supports both alertpay and moneybookers.

What's the issue with Wishlist registration and Paypal? I'm interested to know of any problems because I'm about to buy an unlimted licence for either Wishlist or Magic Memebers.

    Thanks,

Paid Memberships Pro is a plugin that I've developed and released open source. It's in the WP repository. Check it out. It's free.

We don't currently integrate with Moneybookers or AlertPay (would be a deal breaker for you I know). Do you just integrate with those APIs to collect payments? I can put integration with those in the queue if the forum here things they are popular gateways.
