Hi,

I don't know much about php coding, but as i specified in the title of this post
i want to know
"How To Display Category Specific Text In WordPress Blog ?"

In category page WordPress blog there is only a list of posts related to that category but not any user defined text or something extra related to that particular category. As some static information helps in SEO and link exchange.

I have search a lot in internet but failed to get any useful information. so if anyone knows about that please help me to figure out this problem.

thanks

I don't know if this will meet your requirements, but take a look at UberMenu (not an affiliate link). It allows you to add both text and graphics to categories displayed as menus.

They also have excellent customer service which I can attest to from personal experience.

I don't think so... What he wants is custom content on the category archive pages. Those multipost views (posts from one single category) are displayed by template files (see WP Codex: Template Hierarchy)... and the more specific a template is, the more chances for customization without using Conditional Tags.

Yes you are right I want custom content on the category archive pages.

I know about xhtml and css but not familiar with php. that's why i can't do it by myself right now. I have problem with php syntax and its pre defined functions an other things. so i need someone who assist me to fix this problem.

            what i want is this.

I made page say X where i have to put conditions (Like if else) to show the content related to particular category.

then include page on achive.php. But before this i should know how to call the category(i already know the category ID, but don't know how to call and put conditions related to that category.)

    No, I cannot.

As I wrote in one of my WordPress related books: it is easy to install WP and start blogging... and everything "easy" stops there. Customization (and that's what you want to do!) is not easy.

It is not easy especially when you lack the necessary skills: understanding XHTML/CSS/PHP and WordPress internal functions.

You have two options: spend years learning all that or you pay someone to do it for you.
There is no shortcut that I can offer.

Maybe you should READ that article in details before trying the code examples!
Here is a hint: you MUST create your own category template files in your theme; e.g. saving your archive.php or index.php as category-XX.php - where XX is the cat ID#.
Then put whatever "specific" text you want before the Loop. Save. Upload.
WP knows automatically which template file to use when displaying a certain category archive. (It is explained on that page and in the Template Hierarchy...)

Your problem is that you don't read, you just post.

I gave you above the exact recipe how to do it WITHOUT using any conditional tags or PHP. I knew you don't understand PHP and that's why I gave you the simplest solution.

Did you try it? No, you didn't. So here you have it again... and report back ONLY after you've tried it and created a category template file for all your categories.

          Hello tuhinra,

You are not adding text on the pages, instead you are entering the text in a post.
When you visit you blog dashboard, there are options on the top left corner for POST and PAGE. Choose PAGE option to create new page and enter some text and publish it. Now when you visit you blog, it will not shown you as a text post on the main page but as page on the menu bar.
Try this step first, if you need any help, contact me.

          Thanks

Thanks a lot for answering my questions. I have tried to post in the post section but I got no result. whenever I click post then it goes to the first page. In my site I have created four pages but I cant post on all four usually. I need write on the other pages in the page section then it appear as a page text. first I open the specific page then click on new post, then a pop up jumped up. If I write on it and click on publish the post sticks on the FIRST PAGE (Home Page). I can't post on the second page or any other pages except the first page. I have tried and tried but no way. Then I tried to do in a wrong way. I wrote on page section where you create your page, I tried to post on it. It appears on the page but it does not appear on the side bar. I need to write as usually other writers do. Can you please fix this problem?

Yes. Learn the WordPress = learn what is the difference between a Page and a post; learn how WP works when adding new entries.
