Hi warriors,

I'm in big trouble.

I'm using hostgator baby plan right now to host my websites and from the last couple of days they have disabled one of my websites saying using more CPU than allowed.

I'm having some good traffic flow now. Don't wanna loose it. But I'm not sure if its a good idea to uninstall all the very useful plugins and stay with hostgator.

Isn't it a good thing to move to a VPS?

If so, kindly suggest me an affordable but quality VPS service. I checked the hostgator VPS. Seems like too much to pay 100 dollars for a website.

Please advice, thank you.

I have used HostGator's VPS hosting for a few years, never had any issues.

i'll recommend you, going before to VPS
Lets check some files/folders if you didn't check it before.
It happens when hackers try to hack your websites, they put code on you directories (CHMOD 777) and put a php files under it contain base64 or similar codes to hack which increase cpu memory load. try checking your plugins, if any of malicious code inside them.
also check cache plugin because they also consume high memory load

Having previously worked for HostGator, I can say the vps's are very powerful with the way we setup the virtualized servers.

If you are looking for something a bit cheaper, I suggest using IntoVPS. The support there is awesome and reliability and uptime is unmatched. If for any reason your vps does go down, you can simply make a ticket and a lot of times, they will give you a free month of service.

Hey guys, thank you for all the responses. I really appreciate it.

I don't have another opinion either. The only thing is they are a bit expensive for me right now. I was using their baby plan for 2 years and never had an issue till my site started to get more traffic and I had to use many plugins to bring more features.

I think I will start with some reliable but affordable hosting service first. Once I'm making enough from the websites, I may go for the hostgator VPS.
