WEB DESIGN

I have been a long term "traditional" programmer. I have not done a lot of website development. Creatively and an "eye" for design are not my strong points.

Can you please review my blog and give me some constructive feedback on general flow etc? Daily Stock Analysis

Your design looks like a theme I saw on themeforest.net. It is visually appealing and as far as the "flow", looks like you've got the information presented in an understandable way. Overall I say you are on the right track!

It looks good, i especially like the sliding navigation.

However, in the first 5 seconds of visiting your website I had no idea what your website was about. Maybe you should put a headline to clearly explain this.

It's professional looking which is good. I would just add a splash of color, perhaps utilize the header area for a nice logo and headline that communicates the value of the site. Fiverr & 99Designs are good places to get that done.

I agree with Nathan, you need to give a brief description of the site. I would also recommend getting rid of the WordPress links in the bottom right footer. I would also suggest using graphs to illustrate the daily analysis, I think it would add some "flavor"!

To me, there's not enough distinction between each post. Everything sort of runs together for me because the colors are too subtle. I might recommend some sort of divider between the "Read More" button and the title of the subsequent post.

I dont know that you deveoped or designed this blog, as from my side its seems that you have picked a wordpress template from anywhere, (BCz i have seen same template to many blogs)

Logo definitely needs some work.

You also should add some more pictures. There is too much white space which makes it very unreadable. Nothing catches the eye which will provide you with a higher bounce rate.

  Thank all of you for the suggestions, I am having a few people on Fiverr attempt to replace my logo. I think this is one of the biggest issues with my site.

Your blog looks ok and if you add a logo and improve your footer design it will look great.Also it will be nice to add graphs into your analysis.
One more idea is to use a SEO plugin to improve your blog optimization or make direct changes to your meta description and meta keywords and if you don't want to do this then you can use tags into your posts.
