Where to find photos and graphics?

WEB DESIGN

Hey there, I was wondering where to get other things needed to make a site look professional except the codes and basic design. By other things I mean relevant pictures, graphics etc.

Please let me know both paid and free resources for doing the same.

There are a lot of free image resources out there. However, sometimes they want something in return.
You can rarely get an image/graphic that is truly free.

I use Shutterstock for all my professional photos(150 Euros/month for 775 images) and use Photoshop to generate my own graphics for web design projects.

Be careful with free images, copyright theft is pretty serious and can really cost you a lot in legal fees if you do it incorrectly.

You can find Photos at Royalty Free Stock Photos and for graphics try Logo Search for a variety of graphics.

Other things may include your Relevant Images, 3d Sketched, Mascots, and icons!! And you can even find some good of these image in Goole Images, but for more you will have to buy them for a prices, like premium images from premium websites, like, ShutterStock, fotolia and many more are around!!

Try Flickr Compfight search tool.

Search your photos.
Checkbox the Licence "Commercial"

You will get a lot of high quality pictures for free!

i know this maybe the obvious choice but i use istockphoto.com ... it can get a little pricey but its the best for "quality" graphics

  Flickr search creative commons photos - you should give a link back to the photographer for these
  
  or http://morguefile.com and http://sxc.hu - both have free photos, the quality and content is a mixed bag

  Agreed. Have used them for years. Though they're more expensive now than they used to be. I also have a membership to clipart . com just when I need quick little vector images.

If you go ahead and google Stock Images, you will find a vast amount of amazing quality images at your disposable for a price.

I am just mentioning this as you are asking for paid as well. Istock and many other stock photo websites have a great variety of images to top of a web design.

i use Dreamstime.com almost exclusively. they have a ton of photos and vector (scalable illustrations)images. very affordable.

I suggest you to try Flickr.com (there is a lot of photo with proper licence for freeeee) or Pixmac.com - they have great pricing policy.

I always go into the Creative Commons section of Flickr. As long as you credit the original poster, you're allowed to use them (depending on the license)

Be very careful grabbing "free" images that are in the public domain...they may be owned and or copyrighted...companies such as Getty images will try to get you to pay outrageous demand letters for $20 stock photos....go to dreamstime.com they have free images available.
