Looking to create slideshow header on wordpress theme site

Hey, I am looking to create a simple and clean wordpress slideshow header on a wordpress theme site. I am using weaver ii theme for it. I have tried to use a header slideshow plug-in but it's just way too glitchy and sloppy. I would like to use a fade effect as well. Oh and I would like to have the slideshow header display only on the front page. Can anyone help me out with this?

  • Quick solution: Add multiple headers using the WordPress dashboard and set them to rotate at random. WP has this feature.

    Alternative solution: You can try using Genesis Slider plug-in if it works with your theme. However, you will also have to create a widget area in the header to be able to add the slider there.
  • Quick solution that xtrapunch recommended works best if you don't need to mess around and tweak options. You can also just use nivo-slider or other slideshow plugins and change up the settings, ive seen that used alot on other sites.
  • I am currently using promotion-slider plugin on my website Nethawk - IP PBX, Callcenter and VoIP Solutions which is working fine. But I'm planning to switch to meteor-slides plugin, it has many transition effects.
