Hi, all

I am building a website for a friend and it's just about done, apart from a bit more content, but now he tells me that it doesn't look right on his iphone. I have checked it on Safari, Opera, IE, Chrome and Firefox on laptop, and on my Android phone and on web-based iphone emulators and everything looks fine. I had him check on someone else's iphone and 1 of the problems goes but the other remains. My site is pretty basic, html and css only, but I am the first to admit that as I am new to this my code could probably be better.

The first issue is that above the header his iphone shows there are what's best described as 5 red bricks evenly spaced along the top. This doesn't show on his mates iphone.

The second issue is that on the "products" page, the right column text under the pictures isn't lined up properly, which is the case on his mates iphone. I don't know what to do here because if I alter the padding I used to line things up, it won't be right on every other browser/device.

I'm not sure what I'm best posting on here, the whole code for the site seems too much, but whatever needed to help answer just let me know.

The site address for the products page is Door2DoorDrinks | Products

Like I say I'm new to this so please keep answers simple.

Thanks in advance.

David.

PS Would appreciate anyone with an iphone telling me how the site displays on it.

Are both the iPhones users viewing the site using the same browser? One could be using Safari, the other something else.

I think so but I haven't had chance to ask. I will though. Either way, the problem remains... help!

If you're building using Wordpress (and who wouldn't be ) you could try a plugin called Wp Touch

It's not perfect but it's pretty good. I use it on my StartBusinessMentor affiliate training blog as an interim solution until I get the inclination to build in a full mobile solution - if I ever feel the inclination.

Am I lazy and idle? Yep, a little bit

Thanks for the suggestion but I should have been clearer: I originally started the site on WP but don't really like it, so I returned to Dreamweaver and made a much better site. Other than these two issues that is. As for WP Touch, I tried that on my WP site and it just made a mess of it. Images and text all over the place.

Would it help if I put the HTML and/or CSS on here?

It is widely known that iphone does not support flash as a result if your website has a lot of flash usage then it won't be able to work properly on iphone or any other device which uses IOS like ipad etc. So to run your website on IOS you need to use minimum flash technology or no flash at all.

Thanks for the reply but as I said, I was only using CSS and HTML.

The problem, which I've thankfully managed to solve, was that I was using 2 span tags which the iphone apparently has a tendancy to add extra space to. Instead I used a couple of divs.

Longer and not as simple to do, but at least it fixed it!
