Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help or let me know if you have had a similar problem with your blog posts please.

Yesterday I went to my blog and noticed it had a link that I did not post and had nothing to do with the content. The links tend to go to lead capture pages. Also the content of my blog posts lose the layout structure too, they become one long paragraph.

I'm using Wordpress platform with the Thesis Premium Theme. The domain name is registered with Godaddy and Webhosting with Hostgator.

My guess is that my blog has been hacked because how else could a link be added to my blog posts?

Would this be something that I need to contact HostGator or something with my Wordpress blog?

Any help is appreciated.

If you see the same problem using a different computer to view your site then your site's been hacked. If you don't, your computer has malware.

I agree check it on another computer, if you still see the links it has been hacked.

I would use my ftp program to see if any files have been updated recently.

Also any plugins you may have added could have a back door to show logins or create/add links to the blog roll or create a blogroll etc.. A plugin or free theme can have things like this it can even add tables to your database that will not show in the files.

If it's from comments then you can change the comments configuration. Try not to use "Admin" as a wordpress admin.

Thanks for your help guys. The links did show even when I viewed them from other computers. Although it seems to have stopped I'll definately contact hostgator to clear it all up.

Did you use plugins like SEO Auto Links & Related Posts or something like that. This plugins automaticly create links when you post an article.

No nothing like that because I use the thesis theme and it comes with all the SEO built in. Having said that I do have a plugin called 'CommentLuv' from Sharaholic but I don't believe that could be related to the problem.

Try disable all your plugins and see if the links still there. If not then one of your plugin has malicious code in it.
