B2B Marketplace Site Design

I have a client that wants me to design them a website something similiar to tigertrade(dot)com. However, they would like me to do it in WordPress. Are there any warriors out there that can point me in the right direction. I am assuming I could achieve the same results using a premium theme and something like s2member pro. I look forward to hearing the suggestions.

  • Yep - could easily be done in Wordpress with a premium theme, and a membership plugin: S2member, Wishlist or DAP.

    Wishlist is better. There is so much help and videos with Wishlist.
    [S2Member has a development team, but support is through a forum, with the promised features coming real soon without timeline. So don't waste your time.]

    • I would look at the Genesis Framework with the Venture Child Theme or something similar. It will run you about $80.

  • I do find Wishlist very hard to set up - it takes hours and hours so make sure you factor that into their quote.

  • Use Genesis or Thesis Framework...choose on of their themes and everything should work ok.You can even search for a free theme but it will take some time to find a really good one to match your desire.
    Also using Wishlist is a good idea even if it takes some time to understand it.

  • Thank you all for the advice so far. I have s2member on one of my sites and it seems to work good. I do want to switch over to Wishlist at some point. I have not worked with the Genesis ot Thesis Framwork yet, but it sounds like I need to. Please keep the advice coming in!
