I purchased a premium theme from godaddy for my wordpress site. I uploaded it. Why does it look so different from the templatemonster preview? Did I upload it wrong?

current site:
www.sellgoldjewelryanddiamonds.com

what the template is supposed to look like:
WordPress theme #36259 by Cowboy

Should I hire someone on fiverr to install it or did I install it correctly?

The main difference between the demo and your site: you do NOT have content. Plus, you, probably, didn't set up the widgets, yet.

Does that gizmo you bought (the theme) come with any instructions/tutorials? If not - ask for refund it immediately... it means they want you to buy their service of installation!

I think this problem is due to the css. The css file is not puting in the particular folder. or the folder for css is not at perfect place. you must put the files and folders which are same as on your local PC. Means as per path.

Other sub-forums might be interested in what you "think" - since they are more of the discussions type...

Here the OP gave you 2 links, asking a concrete technical question.

You either have an answer or you don't. But do NOT guess and think: instead share your knowledge and expertize.

If you don't have - don't post. It's that simple.

Your problem is very probably encompassed in your first 7 words.. It seems as if this is just a ploy on their part to force you into paying for their installation service.

Any company selling a "Premium Theme" usually provides their customers with detailed installation instructions, often backed up with videos.

As Istvan has already said, if GoDaddy doesn't back up their sale with this very basic form of customer service, ask for - no, demand, a refund and take your business to a much more reputable company.

Why would anyone pay for a WordPress theme install?

Just upload it to the "Themes" folder on your server, unpack it and activate it from the WP dashboard.

The themes don't always look the same when you first upload them because you need content, some graphics and you need to set up the different widgets in the side bar and footer.

Go to your WP dashboard, there should be a section for the options relating to this theme. If it isn't totally self explanatory there is probably a help button in there. Failing that, Google something like "ThemeName Documentation" or "ThemeName Help" (replace ThemeName with the name of your theme)

Actually I don't see any big difference, you just need to configure all the settings of your new theme...

Several themes include the instructions within the dashboard and make it pretty intuitive to customize. You just need to look around and read what the theme says in settings, etc. Once you add the widgets, you will have your site ready.

It's not looking odd. You have to customize it slightly. Don't take rush, One thing I focused on your site. You have a big big big domain name!

I know its a big domain name
But its all my keywords in one lol. My main keywords are "sell jewelry" "sell gold". I am seriously hoping I can get this site to rank well on google, my current site www.jewelrybynorman.com is having trouble getting to page one for short keywords such as those.

I installed the theme but had problems with installing the jquery and some widgets so I ended up hiring someone off Fiverr to do everything. Very happy with the results. Thanks everyone.
