He had me build site/domain 1 and site/domain 2. Now he wants to a site that gives the option to a visitor to go to either one.

He wants to add a QR code to a tshirt. When scanned it takes the visitor to a site that lets them pick either site/domain 1 or site/domain 2

How do I set this up?
do i need a new domain?
any suggestions ?

    Hi,
I think you can use the same domain, and create a subdomain.domain with the second website.

im not sure what you mean. but lemme see if i understand.
Pick one of the domains I have a site created on already.
Make a subdomain.domain and build a page with links to the original domain and the other domain.
use that subdomain.domain for the qr code ? is that right
but it would have to be a m.subdomain for mobile...but i still need a regular version domain as described above. hmmm i have to break this down more. Is there a less confusing way..my brain/experience is slow/lacking

You can do this pretty easily.
First you have your main site. say its called www.Ihelpalot.com

I am assuming that this sight is up and established. If this is the case simply change the index.html file ( or static page if using word press ) to a page that gives a user two links.

The first link can lead to www.Ihelpalot.com.
The second link can lead to your subdomain or www.choice2.Ihelpalot.com

    Hope this helps

OK so for location#1 website add your method, and for location number #2 website add your method then the visitor can choose right ? THEn I caould do the same for both mobile sites and any qr code that is scanned will lead them to the same index/home page with a choice of location. does this affect SEO rank for the websites if my home page is this form ?

If your client wants them to be directed to a page where they have a choice its safe to assume that he or she has two pages that he wants the user to choose between the two

This shouldnt greatly affect SEO to the best of my knowledge

i believe the QR code will different the 2 sites, that's what ur client asking.

so when someone scan a women QR code, she will be redirected to women stuff, but when a man scan QR code, he will be redireted to men stuff.

just setup the 2 sites with different domain or subdomain, i prefered different domain.

    like this:
    man.yoursite.com
    woman.yoursite.com

    both site have different content.

create a landing page with the 2 links and put in whatever domain you want

    something like

    domain1.com/qr_landing_page.html

although its pointing to domain1.com they will not see any domain1.com content because your landing page will have only 2 links and they will choose from there.

for me it's not just a headache. what i would do is create a home/landing page with domain1, create a subdomain in domain1. then i do the domain2.

in the landing page, i will put links to the two sites, so that visitors can choose for themselves which to go to by clicking any of the links.

      just my own idea.
